Linda Ann Gibson

Linda Gibson was born June 21, 1947 to Aredith Carter of Lathrop, Missouri. Growing up with her 3 brothers and 4 sisters wasn't always easy, but Linda always strived to make unbearable moments into something magical. Whether it be making mud pies, watching her mother can, or splitting a soda amongst the 8 of them. Donna Higley, Linda's only older sibling, always traveled adventurously but as children they were two peas in a pod. In October of 1966, Linda married Gary Gibson after his endless teasing at "love at first sight". Unfortunately, three months later her mother passed, leaving both to care for her younger siblings.

Linda was deeply affected by the loss of her first brother, Robert “Bob” Carter. Bob's favorite dinner date spot with his wife was always Linda's table where they sat together enjoying rich food and even richer conversations. Richard Carter, Linda's second brother and always the most mischievous one, was always quick to help her cheat in every game. Paulette Dailey, Linda's second sister, was always there to support her through thick or thin and was someone she went to for guidance in life. Lois Williams, Linda's third sister, was a common fixture in her life whether it be babysitting, game night shenanigans or simple phone calls. Jerry Carter, Linda's youngest brother, always made Linda laugh at all his party antics and silly use of his "Jerry Bucks" all around town. Terri White-Hensley, Linda's youngest sister, was always ready to pick up cards and combat Linda's cheating antics, but was also always ready to help and educate when the family faced any medical conditions. Linda deeply cherished her siblings; each one knew exactly how to irritate her to the point that she either wacked them or giggled at their absurdity.

Not long after, she birthed 3 children of her own, Tad Gibson, Tammy Weisbach and Christal Gibson, whom she raised with tender sternness, instilling humility, generosity, humor, love and dedication. Tad, Linda's "little itty bitty baby boy" no matter his age, was ornery but always around to lend his mother a helping hand. His sons, Jeffery, Chris and Gary were all beloved by Linda. Tammy, Linda's middle and most spirited, grew into her red hair battling her brothers’ silliness, loved to go on adventures pulling her mother out of her comfort zone to try new things. Tammy's daughter, Leigh, was always there as Linda's partner in crime whether it be cheating at games or annoying everyone during road trips. Christal, the spoiled youngest, was Linda's quiet bookworm who followed her around helping as she could.

Game nights and small parties were always a staple in the household; Food was always abundant and laughs never stopped. In the late hours of July 17, 2026, Linda, 79, peacefully met our heavenly Father. Even now, as she is laid to rest, she would only hope you remembered her fondly and shared some giggles in her stead.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Evening Visitation at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119 on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Committal Service will immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO.
