Linda Dalene Morris

Linda was born May 23rd, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, to Dale Ralph and Patricia Ann Jones. Linda was very proud of her heritage and avidly researched her family's ancestry.

In 1969, Linda graduated from North Kansas City High School where she met many of her lifelong friends.

Linda was a mother and homemaker for many years. She took great pride in her home and children. She was involved in all of their activities. Linda wore many hats such as P.T.A member, Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, cake decorator, SPCAA umpire, softball coach, substitute school nurse at Southeast Elementary, and she was a heck of a waitress at many local establishments. Linda's softball team for Ron's Chouteau Inn won the Happy Rock Park Women's Softball Championship five times.

After Linda's children graduated from high school, she attended cosmetology school and earned her Missouri manicurist license in 1989. Her career as a manicurist was a job she enjoyed for many years.

Linda loved racing, and with her competitive spirit, she landed the scorer position on Rick Beebee's ASA Race Team from 1992-1997. Linda scored laps and communicated with the driver. She kept all the team organized while she traveled across the country in her motor home. Linda described her time racing as the most exciting time in her life. Linda was able to share that experience with her parents. Dale would drive her and the team to races, and her brothers Jeff and Greg would attend races where they could. Linda earned much respect and many friends from her racing days. Linda became half owner of Chucks Parkville Garage in Parkville, Missouri in 1991-2026. Linda is well known and loved in our community.

Linda had many hobbies including collecting rocks and crystals. She shared her days in the creeks looking for rocks and attending rock and crystal shows with her family. She enjoyed puzzles, games, and looked for any excuse to throw a great party and bring her family together. She helped organize and pull off many family reunions for the Jones, Buster, Chappel, and Gates family, providing many precious memories for us all to recall today. Her family is so grateful to have so many pictures to share that she took organized and labeled throughout her life. Linda was most passionate about her flowers. She loved gardening and landscaping. Her yard had the most beautiful flowers on the block.

Linda is survived by her five children, Teresa Lynn (Terry) Swearngin, Tommie Sue Barnett, Carl Codey Johnson, Christine (Amber) Morris, and Cam, (Teresa) Morris. Her pride and joy of ten grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew), Jordan, Taz (Ashley), Austin (Leandra), Angela, Paige (Joshua), Takoda, Micayla (James), Levi, and Hunter. Her 20 great grandchildren had very special relationships with their Granny. In recent years, they each filled her belly with laughter and overflowed her heart with love. Seamus, Rory, Dea'glan, Katerina, Kaydence, Kelly, Cameron, Ezra, Calvin, Kingston, Kaylani Grace, Blaze, Bronson, Colton, Dakota, Emmett, Arabella, Levi, Bennett, and Teddy will miss their Granny terribly. Linda is also survived by her treasured siblings Jeff (Patti) Jones, Greg Jones, and Starlyn Jones. Along with her maternal Uncle Larry (Aunt Lynda) Buster. She adored spending time with them going fishing, eating, and recalling family stories. Linda also leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda was preceded in death and received at the Pearly Gates by her beloved parents, Dale and Patricia Jones. Linda especially will be remembered for her fiery spirit and how fiercely she loved.

Please join the family to celebrate Linda's beautiful life on August 22nd, 2026, at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 Northeast Antioch Road Gladstone, Missouri, 64119. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services in Springfield will be held at a later date.
