Linda Joanne Rockford of Gladstone, Missouri took her final cruise to paradise on August 5, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born on May 3, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri to Jim Greg and Shirley Kunkel. Linda spent her life working hard and keeping everyone on track.
She was a proud graduate of Oak Park High School. Her career spanned from Union Pacific Railroad where she spent six years mastering the roles of ramp supervisor to retirement at Murphy Transportation as a logistical clerk. Linda was famously knowledgeable and remarkably opinionated. If you ever tried to argue with her, you quickly learned just how hardheaded her Irish and Indian roots made her.
Linda spent 51 years married to her favorite person, Lonnie “Joe”. When she was not keeping her family in line, you could find her living life to the fullest. She loved painting, building Lego projects and growing her purse and shoe collection. She also knew her way around a casino and thoroughly enjoyed playing the slots.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids. She fiercely made sure they always had what they needed. She taught them invaluable life lessons that they will carry forever.
She is survived by her husband Lonnie Joseph Rockford, daughter Lisa Adams and her grandchildren Ryan Rockford and Malik Adams. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Sophia Adams, Avery Adams, Ashton Rockford and Mia Maga Rockford. She also leaves behind her sister Carol Johnson of Deltona, Florida. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Jim Greg and Shirley Kunkel as well as her stepfather Jim Kunkel.
Rest in paradise, Linda.
