Loretta “Lori” Jean Newton passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Kansas City, MO. She was born on January 29, 1952 in Coos Bay, OR to the late Eugene “Rocky” Linn and Aria (pronounced ERA) Burnham Linn.
Lori was the beloved wife of Billy Wayne Newton for 50 years. She was the loving mother of Aria Marie and Melanie Jean Newton (Jason). Lori was the proud grandmother of Wyley, William, Bailey, Carol (Derek), Zoey, Mark, Rachael, Samantha, Justice, Brittany (Josh), Corey (Kristina), and Mikayla. She was the ecstatic great grandmother to Adyson, Brantley, Liam, William IX and Dean. She was the sister of Patrick (Susan).
Lori’s career as a nurse was a calling, not just a profession. Anyone who knew her felt like she had taken care of them in her own special way. She never met a stranger and always wanted to be there for those in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at White Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Visitation from 12:00 PM until service time. A Graveside service will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO.
