Doris and family, please forgive me for the time taken to send you my most sincere sympathy. As you know the night we visited in the hall of North Kansas City Hospital Joe was also there for knee replacement surgery. We were there the night Luther passed away. He was always a most beautiful man both inside and outside. Will always remember meeting you and your family at First Assembly of God on North Oak. I will remember you in my thoughts and my prayers.

What a special man! Our families became so close when we moved to K.C. in the 1950's and joined Luther & Doris at the old church in North Kansas City. Luther & Doris were so very important to the lives of us kids as we grew up within that faith community...leading for so many years the CA's and providing us with spiritual guidance and living examples of following in Christ's footsteps. How many times did Luther & Doris make the travel arrangements to haul us kids around and how many times they provided just a place for our group to socialize and grow together number? Too many to count. And even when Luther took the family to live in California for awhile, there were still trips between our families to visit and share. (And to let Chuck and I duel with our plastic swords all over Disneyland.) We are saddened to learn of Luther's passing but we feel so blessed to have had him be such an important part of our lives. I'm quite certain that when Luther got to see God face-to-face he heard the well earned welcome of, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

With our prayers & thoughts,
Michael & Sandra Brooks and the entire Brooks Family
