Lyn Ellen Torres

Lyn was born on September 28, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bob and Mary Wohlgemuth. She graduated from East High School in 1980. Lyn married Juan, her high school sweetheart in 1984. Lyn began working for Waddell and Reed as a corporate actions administrator for 40 years. Over 41 years the couple had three children Sarah, Phillip, and Robert. She set about teaching them discipline, respect, and to speak their minds. Lyn loved her family fiercely and treasured every moment with her grandchildren, who meant the world to her. She was known for her quick wit, contagious laughter, and ability to make even ordinary moments memorable. Whether sharing stories, cooking for her family, or making everyone laugh around the dinner table, Lyn made people feel loved.

She is preceded in death by her father Bob, sister Debbie and her niece Heather.

Lyn is survived by her mother Mary, sister Sherry (Steve), husband Juan, children Sarah, Phillip (Stacey), and Robert (Carley); grandchildren Jacob, Penelope, Miles, Mason. Many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to honor Lyn’s life, beginning with a visitation on Monday, July 13, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Parish 1029 Bennington Ave, Kansas City, MO 64126, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the following morning on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM celebrated by Father Angel Lemus at Our Lady of Peace Parish. Immediately following, Lyn will be by a procession to her final resting place at Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery 2201 Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, MO 64127.
