Marce was born on July 15, 1964, to Francis and Martha Esparza in the city of Kansas City, Kansas. Marce graduated from Bishop Ward High school, class of 1982, where she developed lifelong relationships. After graduation she went on to bring joy and laughter to many through her work in customer service. Most notably, at Bunzl-Koch as she traveled for trade shows, planned Christmas parties, and treasured her “work family.” Marce cherished her time at the convenience store she and her husband owned and operated for many years. She always had a smile on her face and a good (or bad) joke ready to go for a laugh.
In 1992, Marce met Chris while working at Embassy Suites, and they wed in 1993. Their family grew to three children, Tim Esparza, Emily (Schrick) Roe, and Libby (Schrick) Maughan. Her strong social skills, work ethic, and family values have been instilled in her children to this day.
Motherhood was one of the most important jobs to her. From countless sports tournaments to the bounties of delicious meals she would prepare. Marce had a special way of making others feel safe and at home with her. It is safe to say that she was everyone’s adopted mother. Marce was loved by so many, and could be noted as “the favorite” in any group setting she was in. Marce made the most out of any situation and made an impact on anyone she came in contact with. While battling through her hospital stays, she would be checking in on the nursing staff to make sure they were having a good day too. She was truly one of a kind.
Marce was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Martha Esparza. Marce is survived by her husband, Chris Schrick, three children; Tim Esparza (wife Casey), Emily Roe (husband John), Libby Maughan (husband Trey). Her two grandchildren Johnny Roe and Drew Maughan. Her brothers Andrew Esparza and Tony Esparza. Her sisters, Dodie (Esparza) Bull and Denise (Esparza) Richard and their significant others and children.
