Marcia Kay Gant, 78, of Riverside, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2025. Born on March 29, 1947, in Kansas City, Marcia grew up deeply rooted in the values of family and community that guided her throughout life.
A proud graduate of North Kansas City High School (Class of 1965), Marcia attended the University of Missouri before beginning a successful career with Southwestern Bell and AT&T. She served as a Training Manager, mentoring colleagues and shaping programs that left a lasting impact. After retiring in August 1998, she celebrated at Stroud’s—a favorite spot that reflected her love for comfort food and laughter shared with family and friends.
Marcia’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth, love, and unforgettable memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Denis D. Gant; her four loving sons, Brett Clapper (Annette), Brandon Clapper (Cara), Patrick Gant (Jennifer), and Aaron Gant; siblings, Thom Fowler (Carolyn), Debbie Butler, and Kay Gant Wright; grandchildren, Ashlee Gant, Zachery Gant (Kimberly), Tyler Gant (Marie), Peyton Gant, Braden Clapper, Jaxon Clapper, Reese Clapper, and Liam Clapper; and seven cherished great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins across the country.
Marcia was preceded in death by John C. Fowler, Marcella Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Ralph Gant, Ginny Gant, and Missy Gant.
Marcia had a gift for making every occasion special. Whether hosting family gatherings, cooking her signature dishes, or tending to her plants, she infused everything with care and creativity. She was an avid supporter of Kansas City sports, a lover of art, and a passionate volunteer with the Northland Clothing Center (formerly Clay County Clothes Closet), where she dedicated her time to helping those in need. Her generosity and kindness were felt far beyond her immediate circle.
Friends and family will gather to honor Marcia’s life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 PM.
