Maria G. Esteban closed her eyes for the final time on October 13, 2025. She lived a life full of joy, filled with laughter and family. Tia, as she was affectionately known, was the heart of her family who touched many lives in simply being herself.
Maria was born on October 18, 1945 in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Around 1978, Maria’s brother and sister-in-law moved to the United States. Their children remained in Mexico, awaiting for the moment that they were cleared to move to the US. Maria, in her deep love and affection for Alfredo,Silvina , Raul, and Tereso couldn’t bear living so far away from them. Eventually, she met her husband and she move with husband, Anthony R. Esteban. They both resided in Kansas City, Missouri. Tony and Maria were soulmates. They were married for 38 years until Tony’s passing in 2023. Alas, their hearts have been united. Never to apart from each other again.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony “Tony” Esteban, her parents, J. Ines and Petra Perez Guerrero; her brothers, Tereso Guerrero Sr., Florentino Guerrero, Eliberto Guerrero and her sister, Petra Guerrero Reyes; one grandson, Alex Esteban; and one step-son, Vincent Esteban.
She is survived by her sister Elena Guerrero Perez (Mexico); her children, Alfredo Guerrero, Silvina Bruce-Guerrero, Raul Guerrero and Tereso Guerrero Jr.; grandchildren, Selena, Amanda, Anthony, Elizabeth, Isabella, Maxwell, Samuel and Aliyah Esteban; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Liam, Lireal, and Luka; two step-sons, Ricardo Esteban and Gabriel Esteban; among many nieces and nephews.
Maria was loved by all. She was adventurous in her travels with her husband and children. She enjoyed listening to her nieces and nephews telling stories about their life and journeys. She was always willing to help her family in any way that they needed. Maria was full of life. She loved hosting parties at her home. She loved her home full with family and friends for the holidays, birthdays, baby showers and baptismals. If there was something to celebrate, or a reason to gather, Maria was the one to do it. She loved hearing all the children laugh, run and jump around. In her eyes, her little kids could do no wrong.
Although our hearts are shattered with the great loss of Maria, we lean on the peace that she is at rest. To our Mom, our Tia, our Grandma, our Great-Grandma, our friend, our neighbor, our Maria, we love and will miss you, forever.
We would like to give a special thank you to Maria Cabrera (her sister-in-law), and Marisol Salazar for taking great care of Maria these last 7 months. We know that Maria enjoyed your company.
A service in her honor will be on Tuesday, October 21st at White Chapel [6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119]. Visitation will be from 12 PM- 2PM with a service to follow at 2 PM. The Graveside service will be at 3 PM with a reception following.
