Maria Raccuglia Hunt

Maria was 99 years and 5 months old. Born the fourth of seven children on March 13, 1927 to Joseph and Josephine Raccuglia of Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Central High School in 1945.

After graduation, from Central High where she would meet her future husband, Jack Bradford Hunt from Kansas City Missouri. Maria and Jack were married on August 28, 1946, and then made their home in Kansas City, Missouri

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Raccuglia her brothers; Joseph, Anthony, Samuel, and Daniel Raccuglia and Sister Dominica Strum, her Husband Jack Bradford Hunt and Daughter Barbara and Spouse Gary Reinwald, Grandson Brent Reinwald and Great grandson Daniel Doer.

Maria is survived by her brother David spouse Paula Raccuglia, Son James Bradford spouse Mary Hunt, daughter Janel Kay Spouse Gary Bryan, Son Kenneth Robert Spouse Pamela Hunt. She was survived by her 5 Grandchildren Carie Doer, Jamie Galloway, Blake and Oliver Bryan, Mason Hunt and 7 great-grandchildren; Melyssa Bierman, Rachel Bronson, Parker Reinwald, Will, Harper and Annie Galloway, Ronan Hunt and 3 Great Great Grandchildren Brady Bierman, Autumn and Austin Bronson

Maria, had lots of responsibilities as Mother and wife she volunteered working at the church with dinners, working in the nursery, sang in the Choir and supported her husband as a Deacon’s wife. She worked alongside her husband at Hunt’s Plumbing and as an entrepreneur and businesswomen opened her own company Hunt’s statuary. She was well known throughout the Northland area. She could never slow down, there was so much she wanted to do, she was also in sales at Ilten Brass in the Country Club Plaza. There really wasn’t anything she couldn’t sell and everyone who knew her loved her spirted personality, loving kindness, she was a caregiver for her mother, was always ready to help move or settle you into a new location. The Italian in her was: she loved to feed you at any time day or night and was known for her midnight snacks Many of you have had the pleasure of enjoying her pies or her Italian Cookies. If she was not baking, she was outside enjoying her flowers and working in the yard she actually loved raking the yard…. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs! If we were not traveling or shopping which includes England, Wales, and Mexico CA AZ and MO she loved joining us on the golf course, riding in the cart rain or shine she was a trooper. But most of all her Motto: Never leave your house without your Lipstick and earrings!

She will be missed!

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Friday, August 28, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St., Kansas City, MO 64155.
