Marilyn Louise Havener was born September 29, 1933, at Leslie, Missouri to Ferdinand Edward Havener and Amy Marie Pigeon. She grew up in rural Missouri and attended a one-room school through 8th grade, and graduated from Union, Missouri High School in 1951.
She married Henry Lee Pope on November 24, 1956, who preceded her in death. She married Raymond Frederick Helmich on June 5, 1976 who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Leslie; a son, Rick Helmich; and a granddaughter, Amy Marie West.
She leaves four children: Carolyn McNeal, Ricky Pope, Keith Helmich and Mark Helmich; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; many more relatives and close friends.
She was a lifelong church member. She retired to Truman Lake where she spent many happy hours fishing and swimming with family.
She was a member of the Ladies Sewing Group and the Church Choir.
Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21 at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, Missouri 64119. Committal will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
