

Martha was born in Green City, Missouri on December 10, 1934 and graduated from Green City High School. Following graduation, she moved to Kansas City and attended Kansas City Junior College.
In 1958, she married Kennith C. Milton of Independence on the patio of the home where they lived their entire lives.
Martha was an active member of PEO. She volunteered for many community organizations such as The Paletteers, Kansas City Art Institute, Nelson Art Gallery, Ararat Needle Guild, Jackson County Historical Society, Bingham Waggoner Historical Society, Truman Library, Starlight Theatre, PTA and school activities. Martha was a lifelong and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Independence.
Martha was always known for her cooking and welcoming guests into her kitchen that never closed. She enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her home in Independence. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at the Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Kennith; and brothers, Wendall, Murlan and Gary. She is survived by her son, Kennith (Tracey) and a daughter, Carla (Mark) Sievers; two grandchildren, John (Caroline) Sievers and Makenna (Warner) Eidman; three great-grandchildren, Lottie and Jack Sievers and Wilson Eidman; a sister, Dorothy (Terry) Glenn and a brother, Paul (Judy) Tharp, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 22, at the First Presbyterian Church of Independence, 100 N. Pleasant St., Independence, MO 64050. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Independence.
