Bitsy was my college roommate our freshman year in 1965 at OK Christian College in OKC. He had an entire closet full of suits and dress shirts, and was probably the best dressed man on campus that year. Since I was from OKC, and my house was only ten minutes away from campus, I would take my laundry home and my Mom would wash it every weekend. Bitsy challenged me to do my own laundry for the entire second semester at school, and to stay on campus every weekend.  I accepted the challenge, but my Mom thought she had done something to upset me! HaHa!!! So Bitsy and I went to see her and explain that nothing was wrong, and he was just trying to help me become more independent, like the rest of the students who lived hundreds of miles from home! The next year I ended up going to OSU in Stillwater, OK and Bitsy ended up in Lubbock, TX at Texas Tech.  Fall of 1966, when OSU played Texas Tech in football, I went to Lubbock, and went to the game with Bitsy. They threw out these small footballs before the game, and we caught one, which became the game ball each year for several years after. We would send the ball back and forth depending on who won the game - OSU or Texas Tech. I haven't heard from Bitsy in several years, so I started trying to find him when OSU was playing Texas Tech this year in 2020. So sad to discover that Bitsy had passed away!!! I know that he is with Jesus, and we will see each other again someday! Hope he will save me a seat!!!

Bitsy is a leader. A man among men. He demonstrated continuous character in everything he engaged. Thank you Bitsy so much for your gracious manner in leading the PHS class of 65. Thank you as well for sharing your faith with me and others in what turned out to be your closing years. I don't know why the Lord took you when He did, but we know you are in glory and we look forward to seeing you again. You truly fought a good fight - well done good and faithful servant.
