Mary, 85, of KC, MO being a faithful Christian went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born May 11, 1930 in KC, MO to Colonel and Mildred McConnell. Mary was the matriarch of the family and the caretaker and put family first. She loved her garden and loved having her family around her during special events and get-togethers. She spent her retirement and the last 25 years with her husband, Jerry. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her son, R.J.; her step daughter, Laura Burke; her 2 sisters, Loretta Beard and Maria Morris. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; 4 daughters, Patsy (Eric) Schenck, Gloria (Wayne) Champion, Cindy Geyer, and Margo Wambua; 2 sons, Charles and James (Erin) Edgar; her sister, Gloria (Terry) Kelly; 2 brothers, Charles (Pat) and Pat (Carol) Morris; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held 11 AM Monday July 6, 2015 at White Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10-11 AM Monday at the funeral home.
