She was born on April 7, 1933, in New Hampton, Missouri, the daughter of Cleo Dean and Elizabeth G. (Ralph) Mock.
Mary received her B.S. in Home Economics Education and her Masters in Library Science. She worked for the North Kansas City School District at North Kansas City and Oak Park High Schools.
Mary was a member of Hillside Christian Church. Mary enjoyed reading, baking, golfing, her grandchildren, and taking care of her beloved husband.
Mary is survived by her children, Steve (Patty) Grun and Linda (Phil) Hopkins; six grandchildren, Matt Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins, Kelly Twyman, Brooke Wahlert, Courtney Grun-Winn and Ryan Grun and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Mackey.
A visitation for Mary will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM; burial to follow.
