Mary "Molly" Anne Scheiner

The family moved to Muscatine, Iowa, in the early 1970s. In 1979, the family moved to Moberly, Missouri, where Molly graduated from Moberly High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a lettered softball player, starred in the school musical, and taught piano lessons.

Molly then continued her education at the University of Missouri, where she received a degree in industrial psychology. She later earned a master’s degree.

After a few years working with Parents as Teachers, Molly dedicated her professional life to supporting and advocating for people with disabilities. She worked for the State of Missouri and then spent several decades working for the non-profit Center for Human Services, where she served as the Director for Community Living, in Sedalia, Missouri. At her time of death, Molly was a Provider Reviewer in the care management field.

Molly’s daughter remembers her as being unendingly supportive, following sports, and enjoying music, especially the Eagles.

Molly is survived by her mother, Joyce McElhaney of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Tim McElhaney and his wife Angie of Parkville, Missouri; daughter, Rachel Heafner and her husband Jake, of Huntsville, Alabama; and a grandson, nephews, and other relatives. Molly is predeceased by her father, Bill McElhaney.

The family is holding a private celebration of life in remembrance of Molly. In lieu of flowers, sharing memories with the family or donating to The Ability Experience would be appreciated.
