Maureen Ellen Wheeler

Born on June 13, 1972, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Maureen lived a life marked by compassion, curiosity, and deep devotion to her faith and family.

A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Maureen was a faithful follower of its teachings throughout her life. Her spiritual commitment was evident not only in her beliefs but also in the way she treated others—with warmth, generosity, and an open heart. She had a kind soul that welcomed everyone she met, creating lasting connections through her empathy and sincerity.

Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Johnny Wheeler; their cherished daughter, Faith; and her parents, Bill (Willy) and Frances McKinney. Their memory remained close to her heart and continued to inspire her daily life.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Ruth Ford-Arnett and husband Jim, Harold Richards and wife Shelly, Marcy Ratliff, Lisa Zanardelli and husband, Dave, and Martin McKinney and wife, Lisa. Her bond with her family was strong and enduring; she found joy in their company and strength in their support.

A passionate researcher of church genealogy, Maureen devoted countless hours to uncovering the stories and photographs that brought history to life. She took great pleasure in sharing these discoveries with others—bridging generations through the power of memory and heritage. Her work not only preserved the past but also deepened the understanding of those who came before.

Maureen also had a special place in her heart for animals—especially her dogs—who were constant companions and sources of comfort. Her love for them reflected the same tenderness she extended to all living beings.

A Celebration of Life honoring Maureen will be held on July 26, 2025, at 9:00 AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1100 E Grand Ave Cameron, Missouri 64429). Inurnment will be held on July 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM in White Chapel Memorial Gardens (6600 NE Antioch Rd Gladstone, Missouri 64119).
