Michael was born February 7, 1963, in North Kansas City, the son of Shirley Ann Groschang (Wilson) and Danny Ray French. He graduated from Frisco High in Summit County Colorado in 1981. He also attended North Kansas City High School where he was very active in Marching and Jazz bands. Micheal began his career working for his father at Summit Printing in Breckenridge Colorado.
He worked at several printing companies in the Kansas City area including Buzz Print, Uhlig, Media Head and Posty Cards.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Christy Lynn French; children, Tabitha Braaten (Grant), Candace Paige Kent (Drew), Colin Letcher (fiancé Jennifer); mother, Shirley Groschang, brother Christian French, sister Kirstan Macken (John). 6 grandchildren and dogs Lucy and Chloe.
Michael lived in the Northland for most of his life. He played youth soccer, enjoyed playing drums, motorcross racing, woodworking, fishing, sailing and barbequing. He was a loving father and grandfather and cherished time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, on December 15, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at White Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, with burial following in the White Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to KC Pet Project in Michael’s name.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
