Michael's journey through life was one marked by love, dedication, and a zest for discovery. He married the love of his life, Juanita Viles, on September 14, 1991, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they spent 35 wonderful years raising their three sons—Shaun, Travis, and Richard—and building a life filled with love and adventure. Michael was a devoted grandfather to Madison, Breyonna, Tyson, TJ, and Taylynn, who brought immense joy to his life.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1976, Michael pursued a career in information technology, earning numerous advanced certificates and garnering the respect and admiration of his peers. His professional journey was marked by a commitment to excellence and an eagerness to embrace new challenges.
Michael's love for travel was infectious. He relished the opportunity to explore new destinations and taste the diverse flavors each locale had to offer, creating cherished memories with his family. Among his favorite destinations was the paradise of Hawaii, where he found peace and joy in the island's beauty.
Bowling was another passion of Michael's, a skill he honed from a young age. He was regionally recognized for his exceptional talent, achieving an impressive score of 296. His prowess on the lanes was a testament to his dedication and competitive spirit.
Known for his warmth and kindness, Michael had an extraordinary ability to connect with people. His genuine interest in others often led to impromptu conversations with strangers, much to the amusement of his wife, Juanita. His friendly nature and habit of complimenting everyone he met left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Visitation to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Church, located at 4800 NW 88th St, Kansas City, MO followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Michael's generous spirit.
