Mr. Micheal Scott Morris Sr., “Scott”, 51, died unexpectedly on October 13, 2018. Scott was born on May 25, 1967 in Larned, KS to John Micheal Morris and Barbara Susan Welsch Morris McCrary. He graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1985. Scott married Kathryn Lynn Isley in 1985. Scott enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. They had three boys over the next seven years, Micheal Scott Morris, Jr., Matthew Jordan Morris, and Joshua Alan Morris. Scott and Kathy divorced. His children remember him as a kind, compassionate father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Scott was accomplished at woodworking and ceramics. He was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Christ and often volunteered at Liberty Hospital.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Kenneth LeRoy and Martha Marie Welsch of Larned, KS and paternal grandparents, Verne Aldred and Lillian Inez Morris of Pawnee Rock, KS.
Scott is survived by his parents, Barbara and Bill McCrary, of Kansas City, MO; John Micheal Morris of Lenexa, KS; children, Micheal Morris, Jr. (Morgan) of Smithville, MO, Matthew Morris (Alexandria) of Raytown, MO, and Joshua Morris (Emily) of Kansas City, MO; his sister, Marti Marie Morris Fruit of Kansas City, MO; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters, 1 grand-daughter on the way, and 4 nephews.
Visitation will be from 12-1 PM with funeral at 1 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Antioch Community Church (4805 NE Antioch Rd., Kansas City, MO). Graveside following at Newcomer’s White Chapel at 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Kansas City, MO. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Scott’s life.
