Misty was born on February 2, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Teresa (Seagraves) Zufelt. From the beginning, Misty blessed this world with her cheerful disposition and brought much joy to family and friends. Her outgoing personality, compassion, and dimpled smile gave her the natural ability to connect with others throughout her life. Along with that, she was always laughing, and her laughter is one of the many things that we will forever cherish about her.
Misty graduated from Wathena High School in Wathena, Kansas, with the Class of 2006.
She lived in Gladstone, Missouri, with her longtime friend and sister-at-heart, Amy Tweedy and was blessed to be embraced by Amy’s family, who gave her much love and support.
Misty shared a very special bond with her aunt, Debbie (Harold) Watson. Their relationship was filled with love, honesty, and special memories.
Misty loved animals and especially adored her Miniature Schnauzer, Seymour, who was more than just a pet – he was a cherished companion and an important part of her life.
Misty had an incredible love for children and shared that through her work at Wildflower Montessori in Kansas City, Missouri, which became one of the greatest joys in her life. She formed many special relationships with the children, families, and coworkers there.
In her free time, Misty loved working on diamond art and found happiness working in a cozy studio that she built for herself. She took a lot of pride in the pieces that she created. She also loved traveling and enjoyed exploring new places. In her lifetime, she was able to travel to numerous states throughout the United States and even had the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Germany.
Misty was preceded in death by her grandmother, Constance Kaye “Mam Mam” Seagraves; and her uncle, Robert Seagraves.
Misty is survived by her mother, Teresa Zufelt; her brothers, Bryon (Leyda) Letterman, Joshua Zufelt, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Letterman; her two nieces and two nephews; her uncles, Michael (Rosie) Seagraves and Thomas (Janice) Seagraves; her aunt, Debbie (Harold) Watson: and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Koinonia Bible Church, 7020 Richmond Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Misty’s Wildflower Montessori family and Koinonia Bible Church for their outpouring of love, generosity, and kindness during this difficult time.
