Mohini Lata Lakhan

Mohini was born on September 23,1958, in Suva, Fiji to Kunj and Kamala Behari.

Mohini was preceded in death by her husband Prem Chand Lakhan and her father Kunj Behari and sister-in-law Nalini Behari.

Mohini is lovingly survived by her mother Kamala Wati Behari of Hercules, CA, her daughter, Kabita Arthi Lakhan and her boyfriend Joe McNeely of Kansas City, MO, her son Vikash Kamal Lakhan and his wife Jackie Lakhan and their children Jaeden Jeremiah Lakhan, Vincent James Lakhan, Victoria Jasmine Lakhan and Josiah Jace Lakhan of Visalia, CA and her son Ashneil Prem Lakhan and his girlfriend Cymantha Beason of Kansas City, MO; siblings, Viren Behari and his wife Suman Behari of Hercules, CA and Rakesh Behari of Pittsburg, CA and her many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from LDS high school in Suva, Fiji. Mohini married her loving and devoted husband Prem in 1978 in Naboro, Fiji and then moved to reside in the United States. Mohini began working as a nurse for Greenridge Senior Center in El Sobrante, CA until the Lakhan family moved to relocate in Kansas City, MO in 1999. In Kansas City, she started a new career that was truly her calling as an Associate Teacher in the Park Hill School District. Mohini retired from her loving career in 2019 after 20 years of dedication to her Pre-K students.

Mohini was very proud of her children, Kabita, Vikash and Ashneil and most of all adored being Aji to her grandchildren. She was recently attending church at North Heartland and enjoying a new hobby sewing quilts. She loved to garden and bird watch. Mohini loved to cook, and her food was the best. She loved shopping and spending time with her friends.

The family of Mohini Lakhan would like to sincerely thank everyone for their prayers, care, and show of love during this time of bereavement.

A visitation for Mohini will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM and funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM both at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119.
