Nancy Rebecah Dewey Carter was born May 16, 1938 in St Joseph, Missouri. The daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (O'Dell) Dewey. Nancy lived most of her life in Kansas City, Missouri. Nancy worked for Montgomery Elevator Company through the merger to Kone as the Dispatcher, Receptionist and Administrative Assistant. Retiring in July 2010 after 26.5 years dedicated service to her second family.

Nancy Rebecah Carter, 82, of Kansas City, MO died Friday August 21, 2020 at 6:25pm at The Garden nursing home in the comfort of her family.
Before Dementia took over Nancy’s mind, Nancy loved talking about her six children and how she was very proud of each one. Nancy was a very crafty mother as a hands-on, do it herself kind of gal in every way possible. Sewing was her biggest passion amongst quilting, crocheting, knitting, doll making, macrameing and she was an avid bowler, with an impeccable high score for many years. The true love of her life was Elvis Presley, even at 82 she would sing to the lyrics, shake her hips and dance to the music with anyone in the room. Even during struggles in life, she was always a glass overflowing happy with smiles as she knew Jesus was always in her corner.
Nancy is survived by: Ex-husband Carl Jerome Carter, six children: Brian Mark (Shirley) Carter, Azle TX, Carlene Janice Kennedy Carter, Kansas City MO, Calvin Keith (Linda) Carter, Fulshear TX, Christine Lynn (Michael) Dale, Kansas City MO, William Lee (Jennifer) Carter, Kansas City MO, Philip Carey Carter, Cleveland, NC. 13 Grandchildren, 9 Great- Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Alfred and Beatrice Dewey, 6 brothers: Gene, Charles, Clelan, Billy, Hugh “Jack”, Gerald "Jerry" Dewey and one sister: Annavee Houston.
