

She was born on April 19, 1947 in Lexington, Missouri, the third of five daughters to William T. and Mary I. (Rivers) Cross.
Most of her school years were spent in the Smithville RII School District in Smithville, Missouri. Graduating in 1965, she went on to begin her career at Spelman Memorial Hospital, working in different positions in the Kitchen/Dining Room. At the time of her retirement, she ran the register in the dining room.
Nellie’s siblings remember her as a loving, kind and dedicated sister who encouraged and helped in the journeys of their lives. She was interested in word search puzzles, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by William T. Cross (father), Mary I. (Rivers) Cross (mother), Carol Ann (Cross) Glover (sister), John M. Rickey (brother-in-law) and Robert N. Glover Sr. (brother-in-law).
Nellie is survived by her sisters: Ruby H. (Cross, Coffman) Ellington of Elk City, Oklahoma; Mary Loretta (Cross, Rickey) Bradley (Randy) of Nixa, Missouri; Lisa J. (Cross) Rickey of Osawatomie, Kansas; and brother John T. Cross (Beth) of Dacula, Georgia; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Brightmoor Hospice, 3247 Newman Rd, Griffin, GA.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Cambridge Post-acute Care Center, 2020 McGee Road, Snellville, Georgia, Brightmoor Hospice, 2795 Main St. W., Snellville, Georgia and Hurley Elder Care Law, Atlanta, Georgia who was instrumental in assisting us to get Nellie covered by Medicaid.
