Nik was born on January 7th, 1998 in Mesa, Arizona to Vincent J. Klemmer IV and Jennifer Michielini. He spent his childhood years between Kansas City, Missouri, Mesa, Arizona and Oceanside, New York. During his childhood years, Nik was fascinated by technology. At times, much to his parents and grandparents’ dismay he would take apart electronics just to see how they worked. His mom, Jen, even recalls a time when Nik put together solar panels atop the roof flawlessly.
Unbeknownst to most, Nik also had a knack for getting stuff spilled on him. One night while in Arizona, Nik had a glass of wine spilled on him including his sweater, shorts and socks. He then proceeded to say, “Ewe! I don’t know how you guys drink this stuff!”. On a separate occasion in Las Vegas, Nik happened to be wearing white shorts and a server at a restaurant tripped and spilled hot sauce all over his shorts! Shortly after that, Nik claimed that it was burning his legs, which gave his parents and sister something to laugh about all night. Nik knew it was an accident and told the server it was perfectly fine and waddled around Fremont Street with hot sauce all over his white shorts until he got a new “I love Las Vegas” outfit from a nearby tourist shop.
Nik saw beauty in everything and everyone. His love for life and his confidence were contagious. He left each person feeling his or her best. He was our biggest supporter and our best friend. Nik was a force that could not be reckoned with - if life tried to bring him down, he would continue to march right through it. That is who our Nikolas was, a fighter.
Nik was a fighter until the very end. During his last moments, his parents, Vinny, Jen and Somer, his siblings Kristie, Kaylah and Ben, his grandparents, Vinny III and Linda, and his aunt, Gina, surrounded Nik. Nikolas Vincent Klemmer may have left us physically, but he will never leave our hearts. Nik marched to the beat of his own drum, the true definition of a free spirit. That was Our Nikolas, a free spirit, a beautiful soul and a shining light. From your off-tone singing to your crowd-shushing during karaoke, we will miss you deeply. We love you, Nik.
