

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Norbert was a loving father, cherished grandfather, devoted brother, proud uncle, and loyal friend. He was known for his generous heart, infectious mischievous smile, and remarkable ability to make others feel comfortable. His love for music, dancing, conversation, and friendly spirit touched many people's lives.
A natural competitor and true team player, Norbert loved sports from an early age. Basketball was one of his passions, and he proudly helped lead his high school team to the state tournament. That same determination, discipline, and teamwork carried through every stage of his life.
Norbert spent many years working at the Leeds Assembly Plant, helping build automobiles, before joining the Kansas City School District, where he served as Head Custodian. Never one to shy away from a new challenge, he later fulfilled his dream of owning his own business by building a successful cleaning company before retiring.
Family was always at the center of Norbert's life, and he will be remembered for his unwavering support and generous heart.
Norbert was preceded in death by his late wife, Toni Hurtado; his parents, Gabriel and Maria Hurtado; and eight siblings.
He is survived by his beloved life partner, Gloria Maria Sanchez, her children and grandchildren; former wife and mother of his children, Josie Hernandez; daughters, Kristina Adams and husband, Olixn Adams, Deanna Sareen and her husband, Siddharth Sareen, and Anna Marie Hurtado-Corum and her husband, Kyle Corum; his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel Sareen, Vishnu Sareen, and Nadia Hurtado-Corum; his siblings, Elvira Soto and her husband, Arthur Soto, George Hurtado, Gloria Dewey, and Robert Hurtado; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Norbert will be honored with a Rosary on July 16, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service, then a graveside committal; all at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
Norbert's legacy of love, generosity, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
