Opal was born November 18, 1934 in Trimble, Missouri to the late Alvin and Ruth (Taylor) Ballard. From stripping tobacco to the dance floors in Dearborn, MO., you could catch Opal dancing to the music of Dick Clark (American Bandstand). She was working for Hallmark Cards when she married Dean Boone and started a family. After his death, she went to work for McKesson Medical Supplies where she retired. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and sibling.
Opal was also preceded in death by her husband Dean Boone, son Frank Boone daughter Gail Boone, brothers David and Richard Ballard and sister Cindy Pointer.
Survivors include son Daniel (Shannon) Boone, daughter Toy Crisp, 5 grandchildren Shandie Boone, Lucas Boone, Ali Dostal, Jason Newby and Nicholle Baskerville, one great grandchild Amara Baskerville. and her brothers and sisters Tommy (Ann) Ballard, Vernita Smith, Joyce (Larry) Velueman, Elbert (Marilyn) Ballard, Dwight (Doris) Ballard and Everett Ballard.
Graveside service 2:00pm Friday May 14, 2021 White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts to Kansas City Hospice.
