Patricia L. Flannery

Patricia L. Flannery, 70, was welcomed home on April 8, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life. Patricia was born on September 20, 1955, in Moberly, Missouri, to George and Lucille Sears. She graduated from Paris High School in 1974 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Culver-Stockton College in 1978. During her time there, she was a proud member of the Chi Omega Sorority, forming friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

In 1983, she married Mark Flannery and embraced the role of stepmother to Bridget and Matthew. In 1989, they welcomed their daughter, Kelli, who was the center of her world. Patricia found her greatest joy in motherhood and later, in becoming a grandmother to Adelyn, Kellan, Grady, and Reed. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Patricia dedicated more than three decades of her life to Liberty Hospital, beginning her career there in July of 1987. As Vice President of Medical Staff, she led with compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Her impact was deeply felt across the organization, and her legacy of service lives on. In 2018, she was honored with the prestigious Stocksdale Medallion Award, a testament to her leadership and dedication. She retired in March of 2022, leaving behind a career marked by excellence and meaningful relationships.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved stepson, Matthew, and her parents, George and Lucille Sears.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelli (Jesse) Gillespie; her stepdaughter, Bridget (Clint) French; her cherished grandchildren, Adelyn, Kellan, Grady, and Reed; her mother-in-law, Jean Flannery; and her treasured grand-dog, Calvin. Patricia will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she leaves behind.

Services will be held at Liberty Christian Fellowship with visitation held on Friday, April 24th from 5-7pm and a Celebration of Life on April 25th at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, in honor of Patricia’s life. She was diagnosed with and bravely battled this disease over the last several years. Her family is hopeful that one day there will be a cure and effective treatment.
