Paul Hodshire

Paul Hodshire was born on June 29, 1943 in Claycomo Missouri. He passed away on February 22, 2024 peacefully at home in the same place he was born. Paul married Shirley Hodshire in November 1992 in Albuquerque, NM. Paul has 3 stepchildren with Shirley; Debra Sharp, Floyd Wood and Dorothy Haag.

Paul served his country during Vietnam serving 4 years in the Navy on the US Saint Paul. During his service, he was an electrician and received the Vietnam service medal, National defense service medal, and good conduct medal.

Paul spent several years doing different jobs. His last position was at Smith Level company where he worked for over 20 years.

Paul and Shirley lived a quiet life and loved all their dogs over the many years. They also had their children and grandchildren close by and loved being with them.

Paul had multiple family members in his and Shirley's family that loved him so much.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Hodshire and Blanche Bird; his wife, Shirley Thurman Hodshire; brother, Jim; sisters, Jackie and Sharon; niece, Sherry; and stepsons, Floyd Wood and Mike Gebhart. Paul is survived by stepchildren, Debra Sharp, Dorothy Haag, Ron Haag, and DeeDee Gebhart; Paul’s grandchildren, Russell Wood and wife Jessica Wood, Richard Carl and wife Shantelle, David Berry and wife Jordyn Berry, Breanne Haag and Cheyenne Haag; 4 great-grandchildren, Amaia, Brendon, Hannah, and Breanna; and 1 great-great grandchild, Leo Michael. Paul also has nieces and nephews Pauline, Deannette, Rhonda, Kelly, Rick and Bobby.

The family thanks Missouri Palliative Care and Hospice for the kindness and care in making Paul’s wish to be at home a reality with comfort and care.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors for Paul will take place on Friday, March 22, at 3 PM in White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
