

He was born September 25, 1947, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Gus and Florence (Crapisi) Terzis. Pete graduated from North East High School with the Class of 1965.
He married Dixie Counihan on January 27, 1972, in Kansas City, MO; this union was blessed with two daughters, Natalie and Melissa.
Pete Terzis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away September 11, 2024 at the age of 76. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1968, where he was assigned to the 92nd Assault Helicopter Unit.
Following his military service, Pete Terzis began a successful career as a welder and mechanic, working for companies such as TWA, Kenworth, and retiring from Northtowne Lincoln Mercury. Later in life, he transitioned into a real estate appraisal, working in both Missouri and Kansas.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Pete Terzis developed a love for sports at an early age, playing baseball and basketball as a child. As an adult, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, collecting classic cars, and had a deep passion for music. He was an avid member of the Doobie Brothers Fan Club and even traveled with the Stone Circus Band from Kansas City. His love for sports continued throughout his life, as he was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Above all, Pete Terzis was deeply committed to his family, friends, faith, and work. His warmth, loyalty, and dedication to those he loved will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Florence Terzis;
Pete is survived by his wife, Dixie Terzis, of the home; two daughters, Natalie Terzis of Kearney, Missouri, Melissa Terzis of Auburndale, Florida; two granddaughters, Lexis Espinosa, Tia Rashaw; two great granddaughters, Letty Carpenter, Naomi Floyd, his dog Frankie J; three siblings, Alice Terzis of Kansas City, Missouri, Vincent and Cathy Terzis of Platte City Missouri, and Christopher Terzis of U. S., and nine nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Pete will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 PM, with the committal service with military honors following in the White Chapel Cemetery.
