She was born in 1931, in Ralston, Oklahoma, the daughter of Forrest and Violet (Young) VanArsdale.
She married Jack Ryan in 1949 in St Joseph, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Violet VanArsdale; her sister Evelyn Poe and brother David VanArsdale; her husband Jack Ryan; and her daughter Jacque Lynn Davis.
Raphael is survived by her sons, Neal Ryan, Mike Ryan and Greg Ryan; her daughter, Cindy Hicks; her grandchildren, Leslie Jackson, Amy Davis, Jack Ryan, Jay Ryan, Julie Davis, Patrick Ryan, and Sarah Ryan; and her great grandchildren, Dominic Jackson and Riko Raphael Ryan.
