He was born April 24, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Franklin Edward and Edna Elzina (McCleary) Lewis. He graduated from Kearney High School with the Class of 1965.
Robert married Roseland Kay Ellington on January 2, 1970, this union was blessed with four children.
He drove an over the road truck for several companies including TG&Y, KMart, Clarks and SAIA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Edna Lewis; his wife, Kay Lewis; one grandson, Christopher Lewis; a sister, Martha Dickerson; and a niece, Diana Greener.
Robert is survived by his children, Roxann Elkington (Stuart), Terry Leach, Tammy Brown (Chris), and Jessie Lewis; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; three great-great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter on the way.
Visitation will be held 12-1 p.m., Monday, October 19, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Committal service will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
