Robert "Bob" Lee Phillips Jr.

August 11, 1959April 5, 2021

Robert Phillips (AKA Bob), 61, passed away too soon on April 5, 2021.

Bob was born on August 11, 1959 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Vivian Louise Crump Oliver and Robert Lee Phillips, Sr. Bob Phillips married Roxane Halley on October 17, 1981. Bob was happily married to the love of his life for almost 40 years.

After moving to Missouri, Bob began working for Geiger Ready Mix and did so for 35 years. He was a dedicated worker that respected the company he worked for. The happy couple welcomed Justin Lee into their home on August 11, 1984 and Jared Nolan on September 4, 1986. Bob’s children remember him as a witty, kind and loving father, who was their best friend. Bob was an expert baby calmer and a dog whisperer.

In Bob’s free time, he liked to spend quality time with his family and friends riding rzr’s and traveling. He was passionate about his children and wife and was very much a family man. Bob could light up any room that he walked into. He had a great, ornery smile and a free spirit that will be greatly missed.

Bob Phillips was preceded in death by his father, Robert Phillips, Sr., his mother, Vivian Crump Oliver, and his nephews, Jacob Williams and Jordan Johnston; as well as his father-in-law, Richard Halley, and stepfather, Harold Oliver.

Bob Phillips is survived by his wife, Roxane Phillips; his two sons, Justin and Jared Phillips (Rachel); his three brothers, George Fugett (Vicky), Larry Williams (Pam) and John Williams; and his two sisters, Penny Poynter (Bob) and Mary Spears (Paul); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc., located at 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.

The family would like to thank the ICU hospital staff at North Kansas City Hospital for their efforts, care and dedication in his treatment and the support given to his family.

I've been with Geiger for 24 years, and Bob was one of my trainers. He had me sit on a five gallon bucket, I couldn't even see over the dash, So we upgraded to an office chair. As Bob would put it, "those were the good ol' days"! Bob was awesome and I worked side by side with him throughout the years. What an awesome coworker, friend, and leader. Thoughts and prayers to the Phillip's family.

I’ve been doing concrete for 17 years and we always use Geiger. It was always great to see Bob when he would come out to the job sites. He was a great man and I am honored to have known him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob and Roxie while riding RZRs with my son Brenson. Bob was a wonderful friend and mentor to Brenson. My thoughts and prayers are with Roxie and their sons. I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was such a kind man and exemplar.

I only knew Bob when he was a young boy but I remember him as a very sweet young man. And from the words in his obituary, he grew up to be an upstanding individual. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May the Lord watch over and provide peace.
