Robert Dean Settles

He was born July 11, 1944, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Lee and Irene (Helm) Settles. Bob graduated from Westport High School. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a Bachelor Degree majoring in Criminal Justice. He became a police officer with the City of Gladstone, then transferring to Kansas City, retiring in 1993.

Bob served in the United States Air Force.

Bob married Judy Ray Oliver on October 16, 1985, at the Englewood RLDS Church. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of various local lodges; and are current members of Barry Christian Church.

Bob and Judy were big country line dancers and traveled for years in their R.V. They enjoyed spending winters in Brownsville, Texas. In later years, they enjoyed attending their grandchildren's sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Irene Settles; and one sister, Joyce Shaw.

Bob is survived by his wife Judy, of 38 years; his children, Dan Settles and wife Mindy; David Fox and wife Georgia; Leonard Fox; Wendy; and Doug; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Janet Campbell and husband Dean; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, Missouri. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, at the chapel with inurnment to follow in the White Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Barry Christian Church for the Food Distribution Pantry and left in care of the funeral home.
