Bob was born to Frank and Olive Stiegler of Kansas City, Missouri on September 8, 1930. On January 3, 1960, Bob married the love of his life, Norma Malone. Bob and Norma celebrated their 59th anniversary together at Norma’s Silverado Memory Care home. Simultaneously, Bob, led a large life enriching the lives of residents of the Villages at Mapleshade as their resident emcee, comedian and exercise leader. He was led to serving the Villages at Mapleshade residents after pledging his faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord, at Bent Tree Bible Church in Carrolton, TX.
Bob lived the majority of his life in Kansas City, Blue Springs, and Independence Missouri. He began working at the age of 6 delivering newspapers and did not stop working until the age of 82. Bob was a golf professional, briefly touring and also running the former Mirror Lake Country Club. This was followed by running his own company, Florida Developers, during the Florida real estate boom. Bob then worked for the Royals Radio Network for 37 years. He is the inventor of the Sonic Slam Inning Promotion seen around MLB. He was grateful to work for Bob Fromme and together they built one of the greatest MLB radio networks in history. As Denny Matthews recently said, “Bob could light up a room”. Bob was also a devoted little league baseball coach and umpire. He knew the rules by section and rule number. He shared knotty baseball problems with anyone who wanted to have some fun.
He leaves his wife Norma Stiegler, one brother, Wilbur Stiegler, three children, Robert (Bob) Stiegler Jr. and wife Jan, Jeanna Tausch and husband Harold (Dub), Gregory (Greg) Stiegler and wife Lisa. Grandchildren are Aaron Stiegler, Bobbi Koen, Jason Walker, Jereme Walker, Evan Stiegler, Alex Stiegler, and Kara Stiegler. Great-Grandchildren are Nathan Koen, Brady Walker, Brooke Walker, Dawson Walker, Madison Walker, Ethan Stiegler, and Luke Stiegler. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank Stiegler.
