Bob married Betty J Rector and August 18, 1966. Over the course of almost 60 years they built a life filled with devotion and love. He began working for Certain-Teed as a Master Maintenance Electrician for 26 years. He then secured a position with GM and retired after 30 years earning 29 certificates of achievement and merit. He loved Corvettes and racing. One of his biggest accomplishments was when his B/Gas Coupe set a world record July 1st 1967. In 1996 he bought a Monte Carlo drag car and loved spending time tinkering with his son and grandsons. His family remember his love of raising roses, how he loved to camp, boat, swim and overall just being with his family was his "happy place."
He is preceded in death by his parents Oren Worley and Marie Nation Worley of Gallatin, Wife Betty Worley and grandsons Steven R. Petifurd and Aaron R. Olsen. Survived by his sister Patricia Land (Dan)of Port St. Lucie Florida, Son Steven L Petifurd (Diane) his Grandchildren; Tammy L Hamilton (Shawn), Derek L Petifurd, Christopher J. Olsen, (Hannah) Sara Y. Ahumada (Petifurd), and Great Grandchildren; Dalton Welch, Zachary Hamilton, and Montgomery E. Shaner-Olsen. As well as his cousin Gary Nation (Gloria) who recently stated, "when you say Bob Worley you've said it all."
Family and friends are all invited to attend and celebrate Bob's life on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119. The day will begin with a visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by the funeral ceremony at 11:00 AM, and concluding with the graveside burial.
The family would like to thank Burlington Creek caregivers and our Ascend Hospice team "nurse Denise and Debbie also Holly" for such compassionate care shown. The Hospice team treated Bob as their own, may God continue to bless them in their work.
