Mrs. Roberta (Bingham) Griffin, aged 82, went home to be with her Savior on November 11, 2023. Roberta was born on July 18, 1941 in Ellington, Missouri, to Loren and Mary (McBride) Bingham. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1959. Roberta married Earl Griffin in April 1965, and they raised two sons together. She worked for Kroger as a meat wrapper for several years and was also a cake decorator, homemaker, and florist. She will be remembered for her hard work and creativity, her faith during adversity, her hope in Jesus' resurrection, and her love for friends and family. Once homebound, she continued to keep up with loved ones by phone, text, and social media. Though she could sometimes be direct in speaking her mind, you always knew that she loved you and wanted the best for you. She will be dearly missed.
Roberta was a member of Northland Cathedral for over 30 years and enjoyed decorating their bazaars, Christmas, and mission conventions. She was passionate about flowers and lovingly designed many arrangements for her friends and family. She also decorated numerous wedding and birthday cakes throughout the years. She was a perfectionist at all of the crafty endeavors that she pursued and did everything with excellence.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Mary Bingham; sister, Mary Elizabeth Cardwell; brother, Randall Bingham; and two brothers-in law, Junior Cardwell and Fairlen Shaw. She is survived by her husband, Earl Griffin; sons, Darrin (Jane) Griffin and Andrew Griffin; sisters, Debra Shaw, Loretta (Rod) Collum, and Valarie (Dennis) Baltzell; brother, Richard (Debra) Bingham; grandchildren, Tiffany, Megan, Ryan, Sydney, and Logan Griffin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northland Cathedral or Kansas City Hospice. The family is very grateful to KC Hospice for the loving care that was given during Roberta's long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and to all of the neighbors, friends, family, and church members that paid visits and brought food and flowers over the years.
