Our hero, mentor, friend, brother, father, husband, and grandpa, Ron made the final step to Heaven on August 10th to be rejoined with his beloved wife Mary Kaye. Ron was a man of substance and deep character who lived his life with integrity, leading through his actions personally and professionally. He was a true family man, devoted to, and living for, his family with a penchant for late night games of cards and pinball. Ron was deeply generous with his time and wisdom, providing sponsorship and guidance to many. His booming voice and infectious laugh would fill a room, be heard across a soccer field, and resonate while singing at church. He was a true gentleman who believed in chivalry, opening doors, and all the good behaviors that make a mother proud. Ron loved ‘lake living’ and was self-trained in all sorts of home improvement skills over the years of owning, building, and rebuilding houses on the lake. Another worldly love was cars and getting a ‘good deal’, owning 29 Corvettes and almost every other make of car through his life. Independence and driving were always highly coveted by him, and he used his ingenuity, wisdom and obstinance to ensure he had these even to the day he went into the hospital.
And if that was not enough, he was a perpetual over-achiever: high school valedictorian, undergrad and law school at Creighton, a vibrant law career including years as president of his firm, an endless love with Mary Kaye from freshman picnic until her passing too early, two successful sons with their even more amazing families, and all of you who are missing him.
Ron has left an indelible mark on the world and all of us close to him. His legacy of love and devotion is too long to list but includes his adoring children, Dan (Paula) and John (Suzanne); his wonderful grandchildren: Nicholas, Elise and Addee; his sister Jeannie (Jay); and countless friends.
