Ronald “Ron” Fleckal, of Liberty, Missouri, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 8, 2026. Ron was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on January 27, 1949, to Stanley and Frances (Leitha) Fleckal.
Ron cherished time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, building and flying RC (radio-controlled) airplanes, fishing, model trains, and photography. A devoted Christian, Ron had a deep love for the Lord and enjoyed sharing the Gospel with others. His faith was at the center of his life and was reflected in the way he lived, loved, and cared for those around him.
Ron graduated from Benton High School in 1967 and earned a degree in business from Missouri Western State University in 1972. While attending college, he worked at Bray Photography Studio, where he later became the owner. His work there allowed him to turn his talent and passion for photography into a rewarding career.
In the mid 1980s, Ron relocated to Blue Springs, Missouri, where he continued to put his knowledge, experience, and love of photography to work at H&H Color Lab. He remained with H&H for the rest of his career, building lasting relationships and friendships while doing work he truly enjoyed.
One of Ron’s greatest joys was his family. He and Virginia Reno were married on February 24, 1979, and together they shared many wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, love, and family. They were blessed with two children, Ashley (Brandon) Beecher of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Jonathan (Anita) Fleckal of Kansas City, Missouri, as well as two granddaughters, Aubrey and Jadyn Fleckal.
Ron treasured time spent with those he loved and was grateful for the many special moments and memories they created together throughout the years. He especially enjoyed celebrating holidays surrounded by family and friends, cherished the close bonds he shared with his extended family, and took great pride in his heritage.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances Fleckal, brother in law, Harold “Butch” Reno, as well as several cousins, aunts, and uncles. He leaves behind his loving wife, Virginia; his children, Ashley (Brandon) Beecher and Jonathan “Jon” (Anita) Fleckal; his brothers, Roger and Robert “Bob”; his granddaughters, Aubrey and Jadyn Fleckal; and many extended family members and dear friends who loved him and will miss him deeply.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Both will take place in the chapel at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ron, to celebrate his life, and to give thanks for the many ways he touched the lives of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Donations may be mailed to:
