Preceding Ronnie in death were his parents, Donald Nielsen and Verlea Nielsen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He leaves behind his two sisters, Sharon Bongiovanni (Tom) and Shellea Nielsen-Montgomery (Steve); his son, Ronald Michael Nielsen Jr.; his daughter, Stephanie Nielsen; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins and friends.
Ron enjoyed 4-H, Boy Scouts, fishing and hunting in his younger years. He graduated from Oak Park High School in 1967 where he participated in Glee Club and wrestling. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served for three years and was wounded in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart. Ron had various jobs throughout his life. In his later years, he sang in the church choir and enjoyed woodworking and yardwork. He watched a lot of NCIS and listened to country music. Ronald loved his country, family, and friends.
