Ron was born November 12, 1947, to Philip and Amanda Sloniker. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a longtime member of American Legion Post 61. Ron worked as a steelworker for Armco/GST Steel for 30 years. He later worked as a school bus driver and an auto parts delivery driver. He was known for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Ron enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing cards and Mexican Train, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan and loved his bearded dragon, Rosco.
Ron is survived by his son, Steve Sloniker and wife Christa; daughter, Deborah Jurgeson and husband Jason; grandchildren, Christopher Jurgeson and wife Jessica, Logan Sloniker and wife Nicki, Kyle Jurgeson and wife Breiane, Ethan Sloniker and wife Abigail, and Madailein Brady; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Lindell Sloniker; and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside burial with full military honors will follow.
Ron will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
