Rene was born July 20, 1922, in Welch, Oklahoma to Lola Rowena (Merrill) Garrison and Bee Young Garrison. She graduated from Welch High School.
Her parents, brother, Bee Jay Garrison and sister, Nina Euretha Hudson (Garrison) proceeded her in death.
She is survived by her son, John Farrell Kuhns and his wife Carol L Kuhns (Johnson); daughter, Ginger H. R. Nedblake (Kuhns); brothers, Kenneth Eugene Garrison and Jewell Dean Garrison and Jewell Dean’s wife Peggy Raye (James) Garrison; nieces and nephews, Tanya Raydene Chiariello (Garrison), Trent Garrison, Dayna Carlana Slater (Garrison), Angela Hudson, Richard Lee Hudson, Kenny Jo Garrison and their families. Rene was proud of her Native American heritage and a member of the Cherokee Nation.
During WWII Rene assembled aircraft for Boeing. Following the war, she was an office manager for RK Egg Co., in Hutchinson, Kansas. Rene worked many years for TWA in the Kansas City reservations office. She then worked at the Braniff reservations office and as a hostess in the Braniff Council Club at KCI. In 1975, she was a founding partner and President of Earle and Grovatt, a consulting company in New Jersey. Rene was a world traveler and enjoyed trips to India, China, Italy, and South America.
Rene was involved in many community organizations and her church, North Cross United Methodist Church. Always known as “the lady with all of the hats,” she was active in the Masonic Alpha Lodge, Ararat Shrine and the Liberty Shrine Club, Retired TWA Employees organization, Save-A-Connie, and the Clay County Republicans.
