Samuel Patrick Rasmussen was born on January 28th, 1992, to Paul and Connie Rasmussen in Kansas City, MO. Samuel was a beloved student at Sherwood Autism Center as well as Maple Valley School until the age of 21 when he received his diploma of completion.
Samuel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His love of books and humor was evident in his frequent laughter and constant demand to read his cherished and well-worn books over and over again.
In his childhood, he had a fondness for the song London Bridge is Falling Down and the cartoon character, Tasmanian Devil, which coined him the nickname “Taz.” Sam’s signature, fiery red hair was a perfect match for his lively personality. He was a man who loved the simple things in life: a comfortable chair, lots of “pop”, a soft blanket to burrow under, an endless supply of salty snacks, and time spent outside on a sunny day. His presence will be missed by so many.
Samuel was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline Rasmussen.
Samuel is survived by his parents, Paul Rasmussen and Connie Fitzpatrick Rasmussen; his sister, Erin Flack (Samuel); niece, Mary Flack; as well as numerous loving cousins, aunts, and uncles.
