Sean was born on April 19, 1974, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lloyd Cridlebaugh and Connie (Almanza) Cridlebaugh. The youngest of two children, Sean spent most of his life in Kansas City before making his home in Liberty for the final two years of his life.
Sean attended Graden and Chinn Elementary Schools before transitioning to and graduating from Maple Valley State School. Following graduation, he worked as a Production Employee at Vocational Services, Inc. for many years. Sean remained dedicated to his work until August 2019, when declining health and mobility led to his retirement. After retirement, he participated in day programs through the Platte County Board of Services and later through Life Unlimited.
Sean loved his family beyond measure. He was fiercely loyal, kindhearted, and had an extraordinary capacity for love. He will be fondly remembered for his deep affection for people, dogs, music, professional wrestling, 1970s and 1980s television shows, good food, and spending time with those he loved. His infectious laugh, bright smile, enthusiastic dance parties, gentle pats of affection, and incredible hugs brought joy not only to himself but to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Connie (Almanza) Cridlebaugh, on November 7, 2020, and his father, Lloyd Cridlebaugh, on November 10, 2022.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Laura Cridlebaugh; his nephew, Peyton Cridlebaugh; and his niece, Emily Cridlebaugh, all of Kansas City, Missouri, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, caregivers, and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals who cared for Sean throughout his life, especially the staff at Life Unlimited and Liberty/Longview House. Their dedication, compassion, support, and commitment helped provide Sean with the highest quality of life possible.
