Sharon lived a life full of passion and played a major role in breaking through the barriers faced by women in law enforcement. One of her greatest accomplishments was being appointed as the first female Police Chief in Platte County, Missouri. Seeking to best serve her community, Sharon went on to become a certified defensive tactics instructor, a member of the KCMO Metro Squad, a certified Bloodhound Handler, a graduate of the Missouri Highway Patrol Academy, an expert in rappelling to include Australian rappelling, and a graduate of the United States Army S.W.A.T. Training School.
In her personal life, Sharon had a love of rappelling, camping, boating, fishing, spending time with her family, and a lifetime love of horses and horseback riding. Sharon was an accomplished rider and could often be seen in various parts of Platte County and Clay County, Missouri on horseback. She always appreciated and loved it when friends, and complete strangers, would stop her and tell her how much they loved her horses and loved to watch her ride.
