Shirley L. Manzo of Kansas City, MO passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was born in Springdale, AR to Marvin L. and W. Ellen (Welch) Ellenbarger. She grew up in Clarinda, IA before moving to Kansas City, MO where she spent her adult life. She was a member of Antioch Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Ellen, her son Rick Adams, her husband Sal Manzo, her sister and brother-in-law, Reta and Don Beckel, and her brother Marvin Ellenbarger.
She is survived by her granddaughter Kate Adams, Hamilton, MO, nieces Janice Batten (Dennis) Orlando, FL. Lisa Shaw (David) Shenandoah, IA, Karen Parman (Dale) Bedford, IA. Tonie Eads (Eric) Kansas City, MO, Crystal Ellenbarger, Kansas City, MO, companion Butch Nichols, Liberty, MO, and many great nieces and nephews.
Shirley was an amazing lady who made our lives better simply by being present. She took the opportunities life gave her and handled the hard times with grace. She was always open to new adventures and was able to visit 23 countries and more than 20 states. She spent several KC winters in Texas with friends living the snow bird life, and enjoyed beautiful scenery while riding the Harley with Butch. She'll be missed by her family and her friends.
At her request, no funeral services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Community Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
