Stacy was born on October 31, 1979 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bruce and Mary McKeon. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1999, and then graduated in 2004 from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in Physical Education. The experiences and relationships she forged as she studied abroad at the University of Newcastle in Australia were some of the most meaningful in her life. In 2010, she welcomed her son Colin into the world, followed by a daughter Victoria, in 2014.
Stacy loved her children fiercely and did her best to instill in them a passion for life. She spent her working career in positions that allowed her to help other people in need as a recreational therapist, spreading fun wherever she went and using it as a way to heal. Stacy thrived on the competitiveness and action of sports, playing soccer and swimming in her youth and supporting her children's efforts at the same. She was always ready to see a comedian or go to a ballgame or, her preferred activity, a concert or music festival: Anything to make her laugh and have a good time with the people she was with. She knew her way around a kitchen, with Colin and Victoria marking her chili as the best they've ever eaten. Stacy enjoyed a lifelong passion for animals, having owned pets running the gamut from ferrets to tortoises and sugar gliders and her happy place was SCUBA diving in the Cayman Islands with the sea turtles.
Stacy is held forever in the hearts of her parents, Bruce and Mary McKeon of Gladstone, MO; her beloved children, Colin and Victoria; her brother, Devin McKeon, his wife, Rebecca, and their children, Liam and Meena of Spring Hill, KS; her brother, Sean McKeon of Kansas City, MO; and 3 cats: Butterfingers, Snickers and Oreo.
