Stephen attended college in Kansas City. He worked proudly at the Social Security Administration office as an IE Specialist until he retired in 2005. He loved a great joke and was an avid coin collector, especially foreign currency.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard George Westermann and Harriet Jeanne (Miller) Westermann.
Stephen is survived by his wife Marsha Mae Westermann; step children Nathanial Hawkins and Misty Bales; his sister, Susan Talmage; his niece, Stephanie Smith (Scott); nephew, Nick Talmage; two great-nieces, Emily and Melody and son, John Fredrick Westermann. He will be greatly missed.
