Steve was born October 11, 1947 to Fred E. Senter and Norma C (Weeks) Senter. He graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1965 after which he attended junior college. Steve married the love of his life Bonnie Edgell on March 9, 1968. They were married just a short time when Steve entered the US Navy to serve during the Vietnam War. He received the Navy Achievement Medal for his outstanding service in the Mediterranean Sea. Steve worked two jobs while attending school and graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business from Avila University. He sat for the CPA exam and started his own business as Steven E. Senter, Sr. CPA. Steve had a fondness for children's programs which led to him working with youth groups and serving as PTA president at West Englewood Elementary School. He also served in the AWANA program at church. He was deacon at Sunset Hill Baptist Church and was also on the board of Braille Bible Institute. Steve was a member of the Tower View Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 15 years.
Steve is survived by his wife Bonnie, of 51 years; his mother, Norma Senter; two sisters: Cristeena (Bob) Ficke and Eilene Senter; a son, Steven E Senter Jr., daughters Amy Senter and Amanda (Wade) Kidner. He leaves five wonderful grandchildren Chase, Chris, Nick, Abbot, and Alyssa. Steve is also survived by four aunts: Donna (Ron) Loman, Lois Rajpal, Erma Rowley, Sandy Bruno and an uncle, Jerry Senter.
