Sue was the beloved wife of Ray A. Henning for 66 years. She was the loving mother of Connie Henning and Ray Henning, III (Becky). Sue was the proud grandmother of Rachael and Abbey Henning. She was the sister of Terry Mitchell (Pat). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sue was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, and friend who lived life with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of love. She had a special place in her heart for horses and dogs and loved spending time at the lake, riding her Sea-Doo full throttle, always trying to compete with her husband Ray. Her greatest joy was making memories with her family.
She spent her career working for the City of Gladstone. She started in the water department and worked her way up through the ranks to her last position as the Finance Director. She often spoke of how much she loved the people she worked with over the years and the many friendships she valued.
She enjoyed reading, sudoku, solitaire, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Some of the sweetest memories were made in the kitchen, baking cookies or trying one of her many recipes with her granddaughters Rachael and Abbey—moments filled with laughter, love, and some of the best baked cookies around!
She will be remembered for her kind heart; love of adventure and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
She may be gone from our sight, but her love and memories will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
